  Palm Aire and River Club residents are voicing concerns about proposed modifications to the new cell tower code (LDC 704.59) which are going before the Manatee BOCC on Thursday (9/2) for a final vote.   Board of County Commissioners Work Session Agenda August 31 Tuesday was a busy day for the county commission. Several people came forward in opposition for a proposed tree ordinance. There was a county planning evaluation, a proposed sign regurlation ordinance, Terra Ceia overlay discussion, golf carts on sidewalks debate, wetland protection and tree problems in yesterday's meeting.   Manatee County Accepting Applications for Palmetto / North Manatee County Enterprise Zone Development Agency by Manatee County Manatee County Government is now accepting applications for three vacant positions on the Palmetto/North Manatee County Enterprise Zone Development Agency, a volunteer advisory committee that makes recommendations to the Manatee Board of County Commissioners.   Applicants Sought for Opening on Bradenton Housing Authority Board by City of Bradenton Published Saturday, August 28, 2010 The City of Bradenton Housing Authority is accepting applications for an open position to its Board of Commissioners. The board is an autonomous body whose responsibilities work in tandem with the Bradenton Housing Authority (BHA) administration. The qualifications for Board members include interest in setting policy decisions based on Federal standards, approval of annual and long range fiscal, developmental and community initiatives, etc.   FPL & Progress Want Customers to Pay for Future Nuke Costs In the midst of of a serious recession and a blistering hot summer that has seen utility bills rise, Progress Energy and FPL are asking the Florida Public Service Commission to allow them to bill customers extra this year, in order to allow them to charge customers a "future cost recovery" in case they build future nuclear plants that, if built, wouldn't be in operation for more than a decade.     Chemo Kit Drive to Benefit Sarasota Memorial Hospital Breast Cancer Patients by Tech House A group of local volunteers from the Florida Suncoast Affiliate of the Susan G. Right tree in the right place was the motto of the county commission meeting on Tuesday. Residents voiced both opposition and support for a tree ordinance that would ban large trees from small residential lots in new developments. The motive was presented in depth by Bill Bors of the Natural Resource Department.
