Prioritize American Rivers
Act Now: Tell Obama to Prioritize Rivers
From: Fay Augustyn
This summer, Americans across the country have spoken out as part of the America’s Great Outdoors Initiative about priorities they would like to see on the President’s conservation and recreation agenda. As the summer wraps up, it is important we have as many American's weigh in on his conservation agenda as possible. With this said, if you would go ahead and tweak the message (as you see fit) that I included below and distribute to your members, we can ensure that a strong conservation message will be heard by the Administration.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments. I greatly appreciate your help with this.
Thanks,
Fay

Thousands of Americans have spoken out as part of the America’s Great Outdoors Initiative this summer about priorities for the President’s conservation and recreation agenda – restoring our rivers, expanding our parks, conserving working farms and forests, protecting wildlife habitat, and providing more trails and places for kids to enjoy the great outdoors. Take your turn and speak out now <http://act.americanrivers.org/site/R?i=pvVT8RIIXznSdv0EAhiWdg..>.
Why speak out now? New and growing threats – overdevelopment, more pollution and a changing climate - demand a smarter, better way to protect the rivers and lakes, wild and working lands, wildlife, and cultural and historic sites that connect us to nature, to each other and to our shared past.
Now it’s your turn to be heard. Take action <http://act.americanrivers.org/site/R?i=zCz_RSNkoNO4BCNHctw1Lw..> to tell President Obama what should be on his conservation to-do list. Tell the administration to prioritize the protection and restoration of rivers, and to establish a National Blueways Initiative to help communities create blueways, or water trails, across the country.
Thank you for helping to protect our rivers and treasured landscapes for generations to come.
Sincerely,
