USFWS Director Sam Hamilton, 54, has died

 
 
The director of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service died Saturday afternoon after suffering an apparent heart attack at a Colorado ski resort. 

Our office is saddened to report that Sam Hamilton, Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, passed away suddenly this weekend.  The funeral for Sam has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 24 in GA.  Many of you worked closely with Sam and will be attending the funeral.  The joint Everglades WG and SCG workshop will be rescheduled for March 24 and 25.   Additional details will follow.    Thank you, Sandy Soto 305/348-6595
